Autochthonous visceral leishmaniasis in dogs in North America

Full access

Correction: In “Autochthonous visceral leishmaniasis in dogs in North America” (J Am Vet Med Assoc 2005:226:1316–1322) it was incorrectly reported that “Leishmania spp have yet to be isolated from sand flies collected from Texas.” It has become apparent that Leishmania mexicana-infected Lutzomyia anthrophora were collected in San Antonio, Tex (McHugh CP, Grogl M, Kreutzer RD. Isolation of Leishmania mexicana (Kinetoplastida: Trypanosomatidae) from Lutzomyia anthrophora (Diptera: Psychodidae) collected in Texas. J Med Entomol 1993;30:631–633).
