Guidelines for Vaccination of Horses

The AVMA Council on Biologic and Therapeutic Agents first published Guidelines for the vaccination of horses in the July 1, 1984 issue of the JAVMA. At the Council's request, the American Association of Equine Practitioners' Vaccination Guidelines Subcommittee* of the Biologic and Therapeutic Agents Committee reviewed the 1984 guidelines and prepared an updated version. Veterinarians whose practices do not exclusively involve horses and those who primarily work with other species should find these guidelines a particularly helpful resource.
