In the Currents in One Health article “Comparative veterinary geroscience: mechanism of molecular, cellular, and tissue aging in humans, laboratory animal models, and companion dogs and cats” (Am J Vet Res. 2022;83[6]:ajvr.22.02.0027. doi:10.2460/ajvr.22.02.0027), the first full sentence on page 6 is incorrect and should read, “There is also a shift in muscle fiber types from type II (oxidative) to type I (glycolytic), due primarily to loss and atrophy of type II fibers."
In the same Currents in One Health article, Figure 1 graphically recapitulates the original error concerning fiber types. The corrected Figure 1 appears below.
