Dear Reader,

I hope you are enjoying the new AJVR experience. There are many more strategic improvements in the works! All of these new web and in-print features are designed to ensure that AJVR brings you both a superb reading experience and the scientific information you need to enhance your program and professional development. The entire AVMA team is working to develop and implement these improvements for readers and authors.

Have you had a chance to explore the brand-new website for our journals avmajournals.avma.org?

This new platform allows us to deliver articles to you online or on your mobile device before you receive the print issue of AJVR and will significantly decrease time to publication for our authors. When you visit the website, you will see that the December AJVR (and JAVMA) issue is available online ahead of print (AOP). This move to an AOP-publishing model will allow all articles to be published AOP, after which only certain articles will be selected to appear in the print issue. This will allow us to a select the most impactful information for our readers to receive in print format, with the opportunity to view other articles online only.

On the website, you will also find our revised instructions for authors avmajournals.avma.org/page/AJVR-instructions-for-authors.

We have extensively simplified the instructions for authors to improve the submission process for our authors and streamline our editorial workflow to decrease the time to publication.

I hope you enjoy these innovative journal initiatives and I look forward to your feedback.

Respectfully,

Dr. Lisa A. Fortier

Editor-in-Chief, AJVR

Division Director of Publications, AVMA
