Dear valued members, readers, and authors,
Over the last year, we asked members for their opinions on how to build even more value into AJVR and we are grateful for the tremendously helpful feedback that many of you provided. We listened to you and are busy crafting new features that reflect what we heard. Today, I am excited to share a few of these new developments.
To begin, I am excited to announce the impending launch of our new, fully redesigned AJVR (and JAVMA) website on a new digital platform. Our new site will provide easier access to the important scientific information representing your and others’ work. Our new digital platform goes live on October 28, 2021, and improves our ability to present AJVR online, including expanded capabilities for:
Article collections,
Enhanced personalization, including saved searches, bookmarking of content, and alerting features,
Preview and export of article citation data
Social networking and collaboration opportunities.
Along with these improvements, you will also find a more user-friendly navigation, an optimized mobile experience, more intuitive design, and enhanced search functionality that allows you to find and filter content by article type, topic, or author.
We are also rolling out a single sign-on process for both the AJVR and AVMA websites, eliminating the need for a separate ID and password for each site. If you are signed into one site, you will seamlessly be signed into the other.
For our valued authors and contributors, these changes translate to increased visibility for your hard work. Also, we significantly revised our ‘Instructions for Authors’ to make them more author-friendly, and we are steadily decreasing our time to publication through several strategic initiatives. Perhaps you’ve noticed some of the changes we’ve already implemented in AJVR, such as a refreshed cover page and the decreased time from acceptance to publication.
We are excited about these enhancements, which are in direct response to your valued feedback and are guided by our goal to increase the value of AJVR to authors and members. I invite you to try the new site for yourself and let me know what you think. Launch date is October 28, and we invite you to then visit or use this QR code to navigate to our new journal website. Stay tuned for many more exciting innovations in 2022.
Respectfully,
Dr. Lisa A. Fortier
Editor-in-Chief, AJVR
Division Director of Publications, AVMA
