A dog was examined because of inappetence and unusual feeding behavior that developed following surgical removal of a plastic foreign body from the pylorus 6 months earlier. The dog's unusual feeding behavior consisted of stretching its body, eructation, curling its lips, turning its head away from the owner, and running to hide in the bedroom closet before ingesting any food.
