Plagiarism Policy
If plagiarism or text recycling without appropriate referencing is suspected by a reviewer or an Editor, similarity detection software (iThenticate) is used. If the similarity score is less than 25%, no further action is taken. If it’s over 25%, iThenticate is run again with references, title, and affiliations hidden from the check. If it’s still over 25%, authors are informed of the findings and directed to revise the language or provide a reference if the text is recycled from one of their previously published articles. Authors are advised that a similar process will be followed at the next revision stage to avoid inadvertent plagiarism.
